I have advanced training in Expressive and Play Therapy and utilize multiple modalities to engage children and teens, support our relationship, and structure sessions. Play is a child’s language and an important avenue for expression and exploration of feelings. I support children with therapeutic play experiences to help them to relax, have fun, and integrate experiences. My office has an array of creative and play materials including: arts and crafts, doll houses and figurines, building materials, puppets, games and sand trays to facilitate a developmentally appropriate therapeutic experience. I will support your child in their ability to identify and express emotions, integrate experiences, and develop self-knowledge and healthy coping skills.
Children aged 12 and under: I require an initial parent visit prior to meeting with your child. In some cases, we may decide that direct therapy is not necessary. Many parents receive the tools and knowledge to support their child emotionally via parent support and coaching sessions. If we decide that play therapy is best for your child, we will continue to meet monthly to every other month to share insights and discuss progress. I meet with children weekly to start.
